Q: What year did you start Cosmetology School?
A: The First school I went to was Nov 2018, that school actually shut down due to many reasons in Spring 2019 and I transferred schools Summer of 2019.

Q: What was your biggest obstacle and how did you overcome it?

A: Cosmetology school is very important and I think finding the right school is a big thing! The different schools do matter. Yes it's tough but honestly the road on the other side is worth pushing to get too.

Q: Have you continued your education and if yes why do you think it is important?
A: Yes! I have done Hair Shows, Blonding Chronicles by Carly Zanoni and a lot of Hair Extension classes. I feel you NEED those things, if you want to do hair extensions take the courses, don’t skip them and blonding chronicles is worth it! I was a member of her educational program for three years. I learned SO much. That I didn’t learn from people around me.

Social Media Journey

Q: How important of a role has social media played in your professional career?
A: I feel like it has played a HUGE role. I got my Licenses in the middle of a pandemic and Social Media was my platform, my only way to gain clients to be seen or heard.

Q: Which platform has been most impactful to you?
A: First? Instagram! I was so consistent with Instagram but that was before TikTok was okay for Hairdressers. Recently I have found myself leaning more on to TikTok.

Q: What advice do you have for someone starting out as a stylist and trying to get their name out on Social Media?
A: JUST DO IT. Make the videos, who cares who's watching, because the only person who truly cares is yourself. Make it fun, show the real you on social media. Clients see that, and they click to that and that is the type of Hair Dresser that they want.
